园林植物造景也被称为“软景”设计，作者通过自身的工作实践经验总结和对南北方若干小区植物现状的调查的基础上，选取了福州市和秦皇岛市2个新建的居住小区作为对象。通过对这2个小区植物景观进行全面分析，以小见大，阐述了南北方植物造景存在的5点差异，并且简单分析了产生这些差异的3个原因。文章的目的是为了使从事植物造景的工作者，景观从业者更好地了解南北方植物造景存在的差异，对以后的园林景观的设计和园林植物的运用起到启发和了解作用。

Landscape plants design is also known as design of soft-landscape. In this article, the author selected two new residential quarters in Fuzhou and Qinhuangdao as research object by summarizing her own working practices and studying the conditions of plants in several residential quarters in north and south. By analyzing the landscape plants in these two residential quarters, the author summarized five differences between plants in the north and south and analyzed the causes of these differences. This article intended to help practitioners of plant landscape understand the differences between plants in the north and south, so that they can design their plant landscapes and utilize garden plants better in the future.
