Abstract: In order to promote the sustainable development of family farms in Shanghai, District D was taken as an example and 271 family farms were investigated by questionnaire investigation and face to face discussion. The basic situation of family members, business scale, business scope, operation type and efficiency of the family farms were analyzed. The study revealed that family farms were troubled by high land transfer fee, poor farmland infrastructure, insufficient agricultural socialized service system and financial supporting service, weak processing auxiliary facilities and agricultural training. Based on the existing problems, the authors put forward suggestions such as improving the efficiency of land transfer subsidies, promoting farmland infrastructure construction, perfecting agricultural socialized service system and agricultural processing auxiliary facilities, strengthening the financial support and innovating agricultural training.
