Abstract: ‘Jinbian’ series is a new almond cultivar bred by the Pomology Institute, Shanxi Academy of Agricultural sciences, with independent intellectual property rights. It has been cultivated both in and out of Shanxi Province. The large-kernel cultivar belongs to Mediterranean taxa. Yet at the same time, it also possesses the cold-and-drought-resistant character of Central Asia taxa. The natural conditions of Taihang Mountains are favorable to the growth of almond. Grafting ‘Jinbian’ series on wild Amygdalus davidiana is proved to increase economic benefit of forest region and promote the development of relevant industries. It can also serve the countryside and improve the ecological environment, which meets the requirements for the development of China's actual conditions.
