In order to reduce the excessive use of chemical drugs and promote the Chinese medicine application and development in the livestock and poultry breeding industry, we summarized the medical plants application on viral disease prevention and control in swine breeding industry by querying the historical literatures. The prevention and treatment methods of Chinese medicine on swine viral disease were detailedly introduced, which mainly focused on swine fever, influenza, epidemic diarrhea, porcine pseudorabies and blue ear disease.
