Abstract: In order to overall evaluate correlation degree in agronomic traits and yield of twelve peanut varieties, we studied seven peanut agronomic traits and yield with the grey relational analysis method. Finally, we used a varieties assessment function to evaluate yield- increasing potential of twelve peanut varieties, compared with reference variety in weighted correlation degree. The results showed that, the growth period, pod branches and pods per plant had most correlation degree with yield. The pod branches and growth period showed most correlation degree with 100-kernel weight. The number of pod branches, pods per plant and main stem height had most correlation degree with pod branches. In order to improve the efficiency of breeding, we could coordinate acceleration of yield correlated with other traits in plant breeding practice. The weighted correlation function evaluation showed that‘Fenhua3’,‘Luhua13’,‘Jinhua6’and‘Tianfu3’had most yieldincreasing potential. The conclusion could be used as reference point for new peanut varieties introduced cultivation, which also provided better service in local agricultural production.
