Abstract:
In order to study the effect of different concentration of salicylic acid on the seed germination and physiological characteristics change of Hibiscus syriacus Linn., the author tested under soilless culture, set 4 concentration of SA treatments that S1--S4 were 30 mg/L, 60 mg/L, 120 mg/L, 240 mg/L, respectively. A control, 3 times repeated. The results showed that: the seed germination rate and germination of Hibiscus syriacus Linn. in the 0-60 mg/L range gradually increased and when SA concentration was higher than 120 mg/L, that became lower; S1 treatment radicle extension growth and conductivity within the cotyledons was higher than the control and other treatment lower than the control, MDA was increased with the SA concentration increased, protection enzymes activity were lower than the control; when used SA can improved proline content in cotyledons and reduced soluble sugar content; when SA Concentration in 30-120 mg/L range could increase the soluble protein content and when reached 240 mg/L soluble protein became lower. By comprehensive analysis, when SA concentration was in 60-120 mg/L, the seed germination could be promote and seedling resistance improved.
