Abstract: Based on the investigation of the species and application situations of ground cover plants in the International Garden Exposition, the landscape effect was concisely analyzed. There were 42 species in the garden for main use, Compositae and Rosaceae plants were the most, followed by Oleaceae plants which distributed on the main and secondary roadside, the edge of the forest, the bank of lake as well as the city gardens. The problems in application of ground cover plants were analyzed. The application prospects were prospected and the suggestions about how to choose and utilize in Jinan were raised.
