Abstract: In order to study the effects of 60Co-γ radiation of different irradiation doses on the seed germination and emergence rate, explore the irradiation doses of Paeonia suffrutcosa seeds and lay a foundation for developing the Paeonia suffrutcosa varieties improvement. The seeds were treated by 60Co-γ radiation and GA3 (200 mg/L), and germination rate, rate of main root length≥ 40 mm and emergence rate were investigated. The results showed that germination rate, rate of main root length≥ 40 mm and emergence rate presented the trend of being increased at early stage and decreased at late with the increasing of irradiation dose. The radio protective effect of GA3 made the best dosage large, and germination rate, rate of main root length≥ 40 mm and emergence rate were the maximum at 26.28 Gy. Low dose also can weak up seeds earlier, 8.76 Gy gave best result for breaking dormancy.
