Comparative analysis on the agronomic traits and quality of different pineapple varieties

Abstract: We compared and analyzed four differert pineapple vatieties on new leaves, stem diameter, shoot height before bloom in Jiangmen.Then three pineapple varieties were chosen to compare the quality. The result implied that: Four cultivars showed a consistent growth pattern. The change of new leaves, stem diameter and shoot height per month was approximately 1.5, 0.15cm and 0.5cm respectively; ‘MD-2’ has the highest soluble sugar content, followed by ‘Golden’ and ‘Bali ’. The organic acid content of three varieties was similar, and vitamin C content of ‘MD-2’ was significantly higher than ‘Gold’ and ‘Bali’.
