Abstract: [Objective]Studies on its biological characteristics, integrated control techniques and drug resistance was significant as dominant species of weed in northern dry land. Find fast and effective method of seed dormancy breaking was particularly important in order to accelerate the process. [Method]The effects of hot water, gbberellic acid and light condition treatment on seed dormancy breaking of Pigweed (Chenopodium album) were studied by indoor biometrics. [Result]The results showed that seeds germination potential, rate and vigor index of Pigweed increased using three treatments which could germinate seed dormancy of Pigweed. Gibberellic acid was the most effective of three. Maximum germination rate 89.33% could be obtained by 800 mg/L GA3 soaking treatments for 24 hours, and the germination rate increased 47.33% compared with the control. Light condition treatment followed, germination rate increased to 70% by 7 h/d after five days. Germination rate could be increased by the hot water treatment, but the effect was not significant.
