Abstract: Exploration of rural tourism is the key to stimulate consumption and expand domestic demand. To exploit market of rural tourism and promote harmonious development of tourism both in urban and rural area, statistical data from 2000 to 2013 were used as the sample, indicators such as rural tourism consumption ratio/ rural consumption ratio, expenditure per capita, average propensity to tourism consumption were calculated. Then dynamic study on the rural tourism consumption was conducted. The results indicated that the rural tourism consumption level was comparatively low, but rural tourism had great potential in market development. Income level was the most important factor affecting tourism consumption, followed by policy guidance. Finally, the authors gave the corresponding suggestions such as implementing benefiting-farmers policy, perfecting social security and strengthening publicity to promote development of rural tourism.
