Abstract: To study the positive role played by rapeseed in promoting the construction of Wannan International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone, the project aims to analyze the functions of rapeseed in agricultural practices, tourism development and ecological protection. The results show that the rapeseed can effectively improve the multiple cropping indexes and increase the agricultural output. At the same time, the rapeseed can beautify the ancient villages of southern Anhui and benefit farmers. As a tourism resource, rapeseed acts as an important part in the promotion of the traditional tourism, such as farm accommodation, passenger flow attraction, and local products sale. Therefore, expanding the cultivation of rapeseed in southern area of Anhui, especially in the ancient villages, is of great value to the increase of both yield and income, protection of ecological environment and leisure tourism. It has a positive effect on the local economic transformation and the construction of Wannan International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone.
