Abstract: When Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China, visited Shanxi Province in June 21-23, 2017, he proposed for the first time the building of a dedicated workforce to the Sannong issues (agriculture, rural community and farmers). In the 19th CPC National Congress report, he once again highlights the necessity to cultivate a workforce that understands agriculture, devotes to rural community and is sincere to farmers. By analyzing the composition and status quo of the workforce, the study points out that with the allround development of agriculture and rural economy and society, the problems of the Sannong workforce have become more obvious, to accelerate its cultivation is the requirement of both the rural revitalization strategy and the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. To practice Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensive measures should be taken to build a cultivating mechanism for the Sannong workforce, work out policy incentives to facilitate the devotion of the workforce, and use role models to encourage more people to contribute to agricultural and rural development.
