Abstract: In order to determine the relationships between planting pattern and soil water content, growth and development, yield and its constituent factors of Sorghum. An experiment with a sorghum variety ‘Tongza No. 139’ was conducted to investigate the effects of planting pattern on soil water content, growth and development, yield and its constituent factors of Sorghum under field conditions. The experiment design was the randomized complete block with 3 replications. 3 planting pattern (equal row spacing 50cm and planting density 105 thousand plants/hm2, row spacing 50cm and planting 2 rows with 1row empty and planting density 105 thousand plants/hm2, row spacing 50cm and planting 2 rows with 2 rows empty and planting density 70 thousand
