High Quality Development of Tea in Shanyang of Shaanxi: Problems and Countermeasures

Abstract:

Shanyang County of Shaanxi Province is located on the northern edge of the western tea region in China, it has more than 40 years of tea cultivation history since the 1970s. Because the county has good local ecological environment, acidic soil rich in zinc, selenium and other trace elements, slowly rising temperature in early spring, and abundant dry matter accumulation, its tea quality is good and outshining in southern Shaanxi. However, there are still problems restricting the high-quality development of Shanyang tea, such as extensive farming management, high production and processing costs, slow promotion of standardized production technologies and insufficient brand building efforts. The author puts forward suggestions on high-quality tea development in terms of introducing talents, increasing technical guidance, brand building, publicity, exhibition and policy support.
