The function of rural community elderly association in new rural construction—— a case study of Fujian Jinjiang Q Community

Abstract: Rural community elderly association is self-management, self-organization, self-service and selfeducation organizations in the rural communities. The elderly association has the internal effect of reconstructing the eldly intangible benefits and external effect of local knowledge reconstruction. With the arrival of aging society in China, elderly association need to play a double function both in the maintenance of elderly welfare and the village governance. After nearly 30 years of development, Fujian Jinjiang Q Community elderly association has now become a non-governmental force which is indispensable to the construction of new countryside community.
