Abstract: Using terminal bud of Cucumis melo var. saccharinus aseptic young seedling as explants, the influences of different hormones on adventitious bud induction, proliferation and rooting were studied in order to obtain a rapid propagation method of Cucumis melo var. saccharinus. Results showed that no cluster bud was induced from the terminal buds in the medium without hormone, while in medium added hormones 6-BA and NAA, the inducing rate could reach 91%, the optimum medium for adventitious bud induction was 1/2MS 6- BA 2.0 mg/L NAA 0.5 mg/L, and no root was induced from the tissue culture seedlings in medium without hormone, while the rooting rate could reach 96% in medium added NAA, the best rooting medium was 1/2MS NAA 1.0 mg/L.
