Abstract: The paper aims to evaluate the adaptability of 9 kinds of medicinal plants under different shading conditions. The authors carried out shading treatments and measured the photosynthetic rate and yield. The results showed that: light and plant growth and development were closely related to the shading adaptability of different medicinal plants, the yield decrease of Salvia miltiorrhiza, Radix isatidis, Lily, and Radix under 30% shading was not significant with that of the contrast; Radix glehniae, Bupleurum, Araceae maintained higher photosynthetic rate, drying rate and yield under 50% shading; the indexes of Fritillaria and Achyranthes bidentata significantly decreased after different shading treatments.
