Technology Need and Prospect of Foxtail Millet Industry Development in China in the New Era

Abstract

Abstract: The paper analyzes the current situation and problems of China"s foxtail millet technology innovation and industry development during the 12th five-year plan period. Through the national foxtail millet investigation, has been clear about the demand foxtail millet varieties, cultivation techniques in our country needs, plant diseases and insect pests’ prevention and control, and postpartum processing industries such as technical requirements, provides the basis for making the "13th Five-Year" national industrial system objectives in order to strengthen the quality. Finally, the paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of strengthening the selection and breeding of high-quality special varieties, strengthening the research and development of mechanized cultivation techniques, and developing the functional products and enhancing the value of the mixed grain brands.
