Weather Phenomena in Deyang: Temporal and Spatial Distribution and Their Effects on Agriculture

Abstract: The paper aims to accurately grasp the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of weather phenomena in Deyang, analyze their impacts on agricultural production, conduct fine local meteorological forecast, issue accurately and early warning signals, promote precise meteorological services and provide a scientific basis for automatic weather observation station layout. By using Excel statistical charts, 25 kinds of weather phenomena were statistically analyzed after the summary of artificial observation of weather phenomena at 5 stations in Deyang from 1981 to 2010. The results showed that: only 20 phenomena were monitored in Deyang; the annual average frequency of light fog, dew and rain were more than 50%; the glaze, blowing snow, tornado, dust devil and aurora never happened.
