Abstract:

To breed high-quality and middle-late maturing grain sorghum, the authors used single-factor randomized block design, took the hybrids of four different sorghum combinations as test materials, to analyze the difference of agronomic traits and yield traits and screen the best combination of middle-late maturing grain sorghum. There were difference of the growing period of hybrids from tested combinations, but the difference was not obvious, the hybrid sorghum combination 23A×014-52 had the longest growing period about 134 days, the hybrid sorghum combination of 147A×014-34 had the shortest growing period of 123 days; the agronomic traits of sorghum combination 23A×014-52 were relatively good; the yield of the combination 23A×014-52 and 27A×017-95 were higher compared with that of control, and the yield of the combination 23A×014-52 was 30.06% higher than that of control. Considering the analysis of agronomic traits and yield traits, the sorghum combination 23A×014-52 has strong heterosis and could be used as parent material for cultivating middle-late maturing grain sorghum.
