Abstract: Pineapple is one of the most famous tropical fruit, having high nutrition and wide industrial value. China occupied the top of pineapple cultivation in the world. Yunnan Province has unique advantages of weather and field soil. The paper summarized current status of pineapple cultivation in Yunnan Province based on area, yield, economical value, main varieties and distribution, etc. The paper also analyzed the main principal problems of pineapple cultivation in Yunnan Province, including few main and improved varieties, low level of cultivation techniques and industrialization. Therefore, some measures should be taken including breeding, propagation, suitable cultivation techniques, improved storage, transportation, fresh-keeping and processing techniques.
