Abstract: Ascertain the southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus overwintering conditions, which is conducive to provide scientific basis of the prediction and comprehensive management for the rice. In this paper, the author carried out census and spot check combination method to study the SRBSDV overwintering in Huazhou, Guangdong Province from March to April in 2013. The results illustrated that, there was a large and high-density overwintering area about 0.37 hm2 in Huazhou, and the average diseased bundle rate was 13.3% while the highest was up to 68.3%. This paper also showed that, the SRBSDV occurrence of the ratooning rice was related to the climate condition and the previous year field virus source. It confirmed that the SRBSDV could overwintering successfully while parasitizing winter ratoon rice in Huazhou, which provided technical support for the SRBSDV prevention.
