Abstract: Cadmium (Cd) has been one of the most toxic heavy metals being contaminating agricultural soils. It can be easily absorbed and accumulated by plants. In order to improve the detection accuracy of Cd content in plant, the article summarized the current development and application of various detection methods. It mainly comparative analyzed the advantages and disadvantages and applications of atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), electrochemical techniques and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). And it put forward the efficient, rapid and accurate analytical techniques of Cd would be the future research directions.
