On the Voting Rights of Mental Patients in China Present Rural Areas

Abstract:

This article aims to explore people's right to vote of mental illness in rural area, to try to make people vote to achieve such improvement measures. This article compares the mental health crowd of medical standards and legal standards while, at the Beijing suburbs around the issues of small sample survey. The analysis revealed that mental illness people's medical standards and legal standards have a greater difference; Currently, there are some obstacle on the implementation of the right to vote of rural mental patients, the reasons are: the incompleteness of the system itself, the lack of public understanding of mental patients and the convergence of mental patient classification system and bad electoral system; to protect the vote right of people with mental illness in rural has social value and legal value. Measures to solve the problem are: establish a registration system for rural mental illness patients, construction of a difference between the systems of rural mental illness patients and have a sound monitoring mechanism to vote.
