Abstract: Abstract: As an upscale functional fruit as well as vegetable, black prince tomato has a broad development prospect for it contains much more lycopene, anthocyanin, vitamin C, vitamin E, niacin, folic acid and antioxidant than red tomatoes. Suichang County, located in the southwestern part of Zhejiang province, has introduced and grown black prince tomatoes in the mountainous areas of high altitude. Through observing the properties and performance of the black prince tomatoes from the early stage of sowing and seedling, to the sequent cultivation stages of field planting, nutrient and water management, and harvest process in Suichang, the researchers have summarized the key cultivation techniques that are effective in mountainous areas, such as greenhouse cultivation as shelter, early seedling in difference places, and drip irrigation under plastic film, leading to a considerable output value of ¥150,000 per 1hm2 and providing significant guidance for the development of black tomatoes in the mountainous areas of Suichang.
