Abstract: In order to known the present situation of brownfield use, forming reasons of brownfield and existing problems in brownfield reuse, taking Yizhang County in Hunan Province as an investigate site, and on-the-spot visit, measurement and questionnaire survey were used to obtain basic information. Typical brownfields in county internal, rural-urban continuum, villages and towns were selected to analyze, and summarize the cause of the formation of brownfields in Yizhang: firstly was market competition led factory closures; secondly was plan influences again; thirdly was inherent in factory pollution; fourthly was caused by mining. Brownfield redevelopment mode was put forward in this paper, brownfields in county internal, rural-urban continuum, villages and towns with different redevelopment modes, and the reuse of the social, economic and ecological benefits obtained were analyzed.
