Abstract: The community composition and structure of Lindera obtusiloba in Laoshan is analysised using means of phytocoenology. The result showed that 88 species, belonging to 54 genera, 31 families were identified in this community, the individuals of top 10 species made up 52.45% in total; The distribution of Raunkiaer frequency was A>B>C>D=E, indicated that the species are well-distributed. Lindera obtusiloba, Pinus densiflora, Stephanandra incise, Larix gmelinii, Rhus chinensis, Chamaecyparis pisifera and Lespedeza bicolor were top 7 species with importance value 8.82%, 8.53%, 7.13%, 6.31%, 5.96%, 5.44% and 5.37%. The vertical structure could be divided into arbor layer, shrub layer, herb layer and interstratum plants. The constructive and second constructive species were Pinus densiflora and Larix kaempferi. Rhus chinensis, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Kalopanax septemlobu and Alnus sibirica were primary species in arbor layer while the shrub layer was dominated by Lindera obtusiloba, Stephanandra incise, Lespedeza bicolor and Euonymus oxyphyllus and the dominate species in interstratum plants were Smilax china and Smilax sieboldii .
