Abstract: Selenium-enriched industry was in its nascent stage but the industry quickly grew. Many government departments actively developed Selenium-enriched characteristic industry and created Selenium-enriched brand according to local resources advantage and market prospect. Se-rich medicines were cultivated and developed as a new economic growth point and industrial chain in traditional Chinese medicine industry. This paper described the effect of selenium on the human body and the influence on plant growth, and analyzed the development value and applying state of Se-rich product and the market of Se-rich medicines industry. According to its development situation in Gansu Province, the paper pointed out its potential of further development and existent problems, and putted forward some suggestions and countermeasures.
