  Cutting Experimental Research of new cultivated Tea Tree breeds of Guixiang 18 2010, 0 (8):  0-0.  Abstract + ( 556 )   Guixiang 18, Guilu 1, Yaoshanxiulu, and Guixiang 22 are new tea tree breeds, cultivated by our institute. In 2004, one of the four, Guilu 1 was rated as the National Prominent Breed of Green Tea; the others, Guixiang 18, Yaoshanxiulu, and Guixiang 22 are the tea tree breeds that participate in the third round of the national region trials of tea tree breeds. In order to explore their capacity of propagation by cuttings, this study makes a comparison between these four new breeds with Fuyun 6, main breed planted in Guangxi, by longstem cutting of short spike, to lay a foundation for the promotion of new breed.

  Preliminary Report of the large occurrence of Rice Black Streaked Dwarf Virus 2010, 0 (8):  0-0.  Abstract + ( 591 )   Medium and late rice were affected by rice black streaked dwarf virus in varying degrees in Chenxi County in 2009.Incidence area was of 3,666.67 ha. Incidence rate of medium rice was at 17.96% and that of late rice at 21.18%. Yield loss was generally at 10% -20%, severely at 70 % or even no gain. Quantities of white-backed planthopper were much bigger than brown planthopper in the field. There were two occurrence peaks in late June and late July respectively. As white-backed planthopper is an importance of the media of rice black-streaked dwarf virus, it leads in a large area of this disease. In different rice varieties, Zhong you 288, T You 272, Ⅱ 117, Yi S wan no.2, Hua Liang you 4480, etc. were easily susceptible and the incidence rate of them above 50%, whereas that of Yue you 9113 at ≤ 5%, and more resistant.

  Brief analysis of the effect of slope protection by shrub-grass vegetation 2010, 0 (8):  0-0.  Abstract + ( 508 )   The technology of slope protection with combination of shrubs and grasses is one of the approaches to produce comprehensive efficiencies of control of soil and water loss,stabilizing side slopes and beatifying the environment etc.In the paper,the condition for protecting the side slope with shrubs and grasses and basis for screening the genus and species were mainly explained,analyzed the efficiencies of slope protection with combination of shrubs and grasses and introduced the principle to combine and matched shrub and grass plants.
