Abstract: To have a comprehensive understanding of agronomy works in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, a large number of historical data and works on agronomy history are reviewed, and the characteristics of the all-round development of agronomy works during this time are summarized as the unprecedented increase in quantity and a wide variety of content. The social causes of the agronomy works in Song and Yuan Dynasties are: the national agricultural policies and measures promoted the production and dissemination of the agronomy works, the intellectuals frustrated in officialdom devoted themselves to the development of private agronomy works, the progress of culture and scientific technology initiated the prosperity of the agronomy works and the foreign exchange and the prosperity of the commodity economy facilitated the diversification of the agronomy works. The study has certain value to development of modern agricultural science and technology.
