Selection and Breeding of Super-high Yield Maize‘Xundan29’

Abstract: Abstract:‘Xundan29’, a maize hybrid, is bred using the self-selected inbred line‘Xun313’as the female parent and‘Xun66’as the male parent by Hebi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.‘Xundan29’has a series of advantages, such as super-high yield, density tolerance, strong stress resistance, moderate growth period, excellent quality, and high seed production. To promote the selection and breeding of maize in Huang-Huai- Hai area, the breeding background, breeding idea and breeding process of‘Xundan29’are introduced. Above all, some innovative ideas are put forward, such as germplasm improvement, inbred- line breeding and heterosis pattern.
