Abstract:

To clarify the effect of different light intensities (100%,75%,50%,25%,12.5%) on the growth and physiological parameters of Zingiber offiinale and determine the optimum light intensity, a pot experiment was conducted to study the growth and physiological and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of Z. offiinale. The results showed that the plant height, crown diameter, leaf width and total leaf area were relatively high under 25% light intensity, and all the measured growth parameters were relatively low under 100% light intensity. The peroxidase activity, catalase activity and soluble protein content were high, while malondialdehyde and soluble sugar content were low under 50% light intensity, the values of parameters under 100% light intensity were opposite to those under 50% light intensity. The yield of Z. offiinale was the highest under 50% light intensity. With the increase of light intensity, the proline content increased, and the chlorophyll content decreased. The maximum fluorescence and the maximum light chemical efficiency were relatively high under 50% light intensity, and were relatively low under 100% light intensity. In conclusion, the optimum growth light intensity of Luoping Z. offiinale is 50%, and the study could provide a theoretical basis for field cultivation of Luoping Z. offiinale.
