Teaching Reform and Practice of Fruit Trees Growing Technique Courses for Horticultural Specialty of Higher Vocational Education

Abstract: Training object of the course was reformed based on need of fruit trees industry of South China and enterprises’ production, and teaching content was designed on typical tasks and production characteristics of employment area for graduating graduates. Improve teaching methods by teaching diversification, based on successful cases and by multimedia, further live and practiced classes in orchards were held to enhance practice curricula up to 55%~65% of the total academic hours. Students were assigned into groups for inter-teaching to improve skill of cooperating and technique instructing, and online classes were set up to provide choose studying for students. Years of questing and practicing of courses reform to teaching object, content and method resulted in positive effect. Teaching by reformed course, students were trained with professional knowledge and vocational technique, capable of service to front-line positions of fruit trees production. The course was good evaluated by both students and employ enterprises, assessed provincial and national refined course. And the teaching group of the course was accessed provincial excellent teaching team.
