Landscape Characteristics of North American Holly and Its Application

Abstract: North American holly is a famous landscape ornamental tree species, which is different from other hollies (the evergreen tree). It was a globular, upright, autumn and winter deciduous, medium-sized shrub. It bore white inconspicuous flowers in spring, which were followed by dense clusters of bright red berries that remain on the branches throughout winter. It was a winter branches cutting, landscaping and potted excellent ornamental tree. The author summarized the ornamental and landscape characteristics, cultivation, and prevention and control of diseases, and put forwarded the application ways of holly in landscape and some considerations when choosing male and female partners for the landscape.
