Analysis of the Global Competitiveness of Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Papers and Patents (2024)

Abstract

Abstract:

In order to study the global relative position of China's overall agricultural technological competitiveness, the core elements of agricultural technological competitiveness, namely agricultural scientific and technological papers and agricultural invention patents, were taken as the main analysis data types. An in-depth analysis was conducted on the overall agricultural technological status of 22 advanced agricultural countries and their institutions from 2019 to 2023, summarizing the technological development status and characteristics of China in 12 disciplines and 13 key technical fields of agriculture. The global competitiveness of agricultural scientific and technological papers and patents from Chinese institutions was evaluated. Analysis showed that from 2019 to 2023, China's agricultural science and technology paper competitiveness index ranked first in the world. China's agricultural science and technology papers not only continued to lead in quantity, but also further improved in quality. China's agricultural patent competitiveness index had achieved first place for the first time, and China's agricultural science and technology paper and patent competitiveness would continue to remain in the forefront of the world. The research is expected to provide reference for technology management departments to formulate reasonable development plans for innovation systems.
