Abstract:

A bibliometric analysis was conducted to study the current situation and development trend of selenium-enriched crops research in China, the research papers were from CNKI and SCI-E database. The results show that 1085 papers were published from 1992 to 2020 and the annual quantity of papers published increased year by year, what’s more, 67.0% of the papers were published from 2010 to 2020, and the number of SCI papers increased year by year. The Huazhong Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Northwest A & F University, China Agricultural University and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences are the institutions which have strong scientific research strength and academic influence. The main research topics for selenium-enriched crops in China are from 8 aspects: the effects of selenium on growth, yield and quality of crops; selenium uptake, transport and distribution in crops; the antagonism of selenium to cadmium, lead and mercury and other toxic element in crops; the antioxidant activity of selenium in crops; the effects of selenium on photosynthesis in crops; selenium types and content in selenium-enriched crops; the interaction of selenium with zinc, molybdenum, sulfur and other elements and the molecular mechanisms of selenium-enriched crops. In general, the number of SCI papers on selenium-enriched crops research has increased year by year in China, and the academic influence of China is rising; the trend of research on selenium-enriched crops in China has shifted from the physiology and biochemitry to molecular biology.
