Abstract:

Applying clean energy heating for curing tobacco is the best way to realize greening tobacco production. To change the current situation of coal-fired heating for tobacco curing, the curing data of clean energy, including a biomass briquette fuel, air-source heating pump, gas fuel and alcohol-based fuel, collected from 8 large tobacco curing factories in 5 key tobacco-planting provinces for 2 years were analyzed comparing with coal combustion. And combined with the existing literature, the comprehensive economic benefits of different heating sources were studied. The results show that the curing cost of the air-source heating pump per batch each barn is slightly higher than that of coal-fired heating, which could be used as the best backup heating source for tobacco curing. And the gas fuel and alcohol-based fuel are not suitable for large-scale promotion at present because of their relatively high curing cost. The biomass pellet fuel could realize the recycling of tobacco wastes, which is the best alternative energy to coal fuel for tobacco curing at the present stage.
