Watermelon in Chinese Culture

Abstract:

Watermelon, a fruit that is loved by people, originated from overseas and was introduced to China and developed with the time. After being introduced to China, watermelon has been cultivated and spread for a long time, and formed cultures, history and customs as the major element. In its development in China, watermelon has played a role in summer for relieving thirsty, added many connotations to the traditional Chinese culture, and influenced China's agricultural development. It is not only one of the important elements of traditional folk culture in China, but also one of the agricultural cultural heritage. The authors believe that the cultural value and social value of watermelon should be protected and passed down.
